City, Road. Also half and 10K. 5 hour cut off.
Flat and fast. Two laps for the marathon but also a half and 10K. Attractive course with a few tight corners and some out and back sections. Stadium finish.
Small, mainly for bib pick up.
Start-line facilities/Aid Stations
Better than average toilet facilities at the start. We didn’t use bag drop but involved going back to the Velodrome so a bit of a walk from the finish. Aid stations well stocked with water and sports drinks and gels. Ran out of foil blankets before 3:30 finishers and as it had been raining this was very unfortunate.
Good quality medal, very good quality short-sleeved t-shirt.
Plenty of accommodation throughout the city and buses to start detailed. We stayed at the Astoria 7 Hotel which was a 5 minute walk to the start/finish area.
As San Sebastian is known for its food there are plenty of restaurants around the city. But same story as usual if you want a guaranteed sit down meal Saturday night – especially pasta book ahead. We had real trouble getting food.
Another recommended marathon (read our post here). Lovely old town and sea front.
