Top 5 websites for gifts for runners – The Marathon season is getting underway. Through March, April and May many of you will be taking part, or know of someone who is taking part in a marathon somewhere in the world. We’ve already had the Seville Marathon and seen some amazing results from friends who were running there this past weekend.
The Treasure Coast Marathon in Florida beckons us this weekend. We will be in Limassol in March, Two Oceans, Boston and London in April and Milton Keynes, Riga and Liverpool in May. We hope to see some of you on our travels.
If someone close to you is running a marathon in the coming months maybe you would like to treat them (or yourself) to a gift to celebrate this amazing achievement.
This weeks Top 5 Wednesdays is a list of companies selling gifts for runners. Why not have a look? We’re sure you will find something you will like.
Here are are Top 5 websites with gifts for runners. We’ve chosen a sample gift from each one.
This site is a a small company owned by runners specifically for runners and triathletes. It has a gift guide and shop along side a blog giving tips for marathon runners. They also sell kit for MarathonTalk – the excellent weekly running podcast hosted by Martin Yelling and Tom Williams. Sales of these products help to support the show.
Categories include Wedding Gifts for runners and triathletes. We love these cards.
Esty is a large company selling gifts for a variety of people but its Gifts for Runners section has some interesting items at reasonable prices. Personalised trainer tags are popular, as are inspirational travel cups and marathon maps. We quite like the message on these mugs.
Corinna Smith took up jewellery making when she was made redundant from her corporate job. Her studio is in Berkshire on the banks of the Thames and she produces lovely personalised silver items. Also a runner, she has a special selection for running achievements. This tag is an example of her work.
P.Home sell a selection of framed gifts for runners and other sports. We like their cut out route maps. A street map of the marathon route is cut to spell twenty six point two and mounted and framed -leaving a space for your medal. The date and your time are added.
Not on the High Street
Not on the High Street is another popular online retail outlet that sells gifts for many different groups of people. The gifts are sourced from smaller companies and artisans around the country and many are personalised.
In the section Gifts for Runners you can buy race maps, personalised running prints and a wide selection of jewellery for men and woman. Items from other sections can be personalised too. For example, Cam received this cactus necklace to celebrate her PB at the Phoenix Mesa Marathon in Arizona – Saguaro Cacti featured quite prominently in the race.
